DirectX 11.1 on win 7 ?

Went trough the forums on battlelog and wanted to test if its true. People say that Bf4 will run great on Win8 because the dx11.1.
Question is...how do I update my Dx to 11.1 ?

The full version of 11.1 is supported only on 8+, but there's a patch for Win 7 which brings some of the features and improvements over.

That's an older post which mentions the IE10 RP, now that the full version of IE10 is out the the patch may have made it in through regular updates when IE10 was installed.

11.1 is only partially supported on Windows 7, the specific parts are detailed HERE. If you do all of your Windows updates on 7 you will get that partial update. AFAIK you cannot fully update 7 to 11.1.

Thanks for the link. Do you happen to know the ID of the update that contains this specific feature? I have a full blown list there and I' d preferred not to install all the updates.

You can download it separately from HERE but you must be running 7 SP1 do use it.

I would recommend updating Windows 7 with a week or two delay (to insure that the update doesn't cause issues).

Not up to the date. They are turned off because some blue screens I had. Am I blind? I can't see a download button or ...anything on the microsoft site.

Since you don't usually install them, you are a good candidate for a repair install. Grab the latest image of the same version that you run from HERE and burn to a DVD or make an install USB using the tool HERE. Then backup key data just in case, and do a repair installation that *should* (always has for me on dozens of machines, but you never know) be able to do a repair installation that will not affect your programs or data. Take a look HERE for a good tutorial.

Then you will be able to do all the Windows updates to get you up to date.

After accessing the link provided, it told me that i already have the update installed. It is weird. This win7 is 2 weeks fresh. I updated it after the installation. Reading the forums i thought that my Dx is old or not updated. Looks like im good on that subject. I still get low frame-rates on the beta, and my friend with a gtx 660 has the same problem. Hope they will fix this soon so I can upgrade my system.

If you guys are having bad frame rates on BF4 beta with GTX 660, go to geforce.com and download the beta 331.40 drivers. I was having the same poor performance on my Asus GTX 660 with the 320.xx drivers and I updated to the 331.40's and everything works perfect now.
