Hey everyone. I came here for some help. Would upgrading my GTX 570 DCUII to a GTX 660 or 660ti be a smart choice? Or should i get another 570 and SLI the two? I only ask because the 660 and ti models are in my price range. Thanks in advance! (Note, I've also found some 580's for sale, so that is also an option.)

Solution
You won't see much improvement with an upgrade to GTX 660, 660Ti or 580. To get a good upgrade from GTX 570, you need a GTX 680 or 770.

Consult Tom's Hardware's Best Graphics Card for the Money graphics card hierarchy chart:

In order to get appreciably better performace, you need to upgrade at least 3 tiers up. Your suggested upgrades only go 1 tier up.

I would suggest you hold tight and do with your current GPU. Next year both AMD and Nvidia have genuinely new GPUs coming out on the new 20 nm process. Those could be much faster than the current models.

Ah i understand. Now what about a single 580? And yeah, the DCUII is freaking power house haha I have a corsair GS800W PSU, would that suffice?

Thank you for the answer, but I am in need for an update haha. I have a stable job, and make good money. So for now I will SLI two of these cards, and by the time next gen comes out, I will look for an upgrade then.
