Hi
I have a simple question: are the any other 'trusted' websites like Download.com, Filehippo and Softonic?
Also, recently, an online adviser informed me that ALL internet speed boosters are FAKE!!
I was very surprised to learn that. But if that IS TRUE that I have 2 questions: how do you know and have used a lot of those types of programs?
That's the end of my post. But I look forward to anyones reply especially an answer to the last 2 questions!!
Thank you from
Mahjonng (Mr Berwyn H Price who lives in Scotland - not Scottish)
P.S. Reason why I use Mahjonng as a user name is because I like playing software and DS programs of that particular game!!

Also, recently, an online adviser informed me that ALL internet speed boosters are FAKE!!Given any current broadband connection, that is a true statement. And yes, I've tried some.
Either they do nothing special, or come with so much extra baggage as to be unusable, or actively screw up the registry.

Hi Grandmaster (rolli59) and Moderator (USAFRet),
Thank you for your reply. But I have just downloaded Ashampoo Internet Accelerator 2 from the Gizmo's website.
Have not tried it yet but if it does do 'what it says on the tin' I WILL be posting it nearly everywhere on the net including informing the advisors who I have been communicating with recently online!
Will keep you informed - so watch this space.

Hi Grandmaster (rolli59) and Moderator (USAFRet),
Just to update you both on Ashampoo Internet Accelerator 2 recently downloaded from the Gizmo's website:
yesterday I sent a message to the 'makers' of the Ashampoo software asking someone to explain what are the are various connection types available under the 'Optimize automatically' section (for example what does ISDN stand for etc)!
We have a BT Hub 3 S583 connected to our laptop by cable to the 'surf' the internet which has broadband and wireless service included.
But we do not know what connection type is used to connect to the internet!
So, as soon as I receive a reply from the 'makers' of the Ashampoo software I will then be able set the program to the correct connection type and start using it!!
Will let you know - so watch this space!!!

Your BT Hub connects to the Net using its own internal MODEM device. I make my living cleaning up systems which have become infected or damaged by the wrong kind of utility and the product you downloaded has been known to damage systems in my experience.
You mention it twice in your posts along with the name of the site where you found it and then go on to say you'lll spread the word all over the Net. Overdoing that could get you suspected of plugging the product as a Commercial Spammer so take care.
Finally, without accurate benchmarking tools, you will have no sure way of knowing whether or not it actually made a difference. Clearing out the clutter and freeing hard disk space will dobut adding more RAM (memory) is the guaranteed way of fixing things. Which anti-virus do you use?
