Hi, just want to check if my CPU temps are normal while gaming.
I have a i7-3612qm, HP Pavillion g6 notebook. Surface: glass
CPU temps according to CoreTemp after 30 mins of playing L.A. Noire on medium settings:
80-90°C.
CPU temps on idle:
40-50°C.
CPU temps while skipping through and fast-forwarding an HD stream on the Silverlight plugin:
80-90°C after some time.
CPU temps with normal browsing(4-5 tabs open, one or two of them with flash video player + Spotify, VLC):
60-70°C.
I'm worrying because I didn't expect the CPU temp to reach 90°C while gaming. You see, not too long ago I had to change laptop because my older one, Acer Aspire 5738G(Intel Pentium DC T4400), were overheating and frequently shut down due to it - even if I used a cooler pad. It's CPU temps on CoreTemp looked about the same, except it shut down when it reached 90°C and were more vulnerable to flash videos.
My current one, the HP g6, has luckily not shut down, but then again I haven't played any of the newer games(2008-2013) for more than 30 mins at the time.
Thanks
