Hi, I want to build a ubuntu server, but I don't know what specs I need. So is there any good motherboard out there? I have heard that buying a motherboard without a videocard and then buy a videocard seperated is the best and cheapest thing to do. But I'm not shure. So is there anyone that may want to help me?

If your an AMD fan, you can go the A series route with an A4 / A6 and an Asus or Gigabyte board
And if you an intel fan, go with the Pentium / Celeron route and and an Asus or Gigabyte board- they are both the top manufactures to go with and are trusted by professionals.
For the Memory, 6 or 8 GB should be more then enough for most usages
and for graphics, the CPUs I mentioned all have built in graphics, so no worries there.
Disk, go with a 1 or 2 TB HDD for the data / storage and a 500 or 320 GB HDD for Ubuntu itself

Processing Speed and price - Intels are usually faster & more expensive, while AMD is slightly slower and cheaper - but it also comes down to user preference.
