i am getting 25-33 fps on low settings all the way on BF4 BETA. i am not expecting much because i have a 550ti (really sucks). i also have a amd athlon ii x4 640 (also sucks).

i can get 55-70 fps on bf3 on these settings (note IT MAY SAY 39 BUT IT IS USUALLY UP TO 70)

i am going to upgrade my pc in the future to a 760 with a amd 8350. but for now do you think that i can run battlefield 4 when it comes out at least 45 fps???? i was also wondering if the atlon ii x4 could be the problem in bf4 also. because in task manager it says im using 90% of my cpu while playing the game.

Solution
Short answer: No.

BF4 is in beta and the performance is currently TERRIBLE. The beta is mostly for server and netcode testing. And if it's like the BF3 beta, it's not even the most current version of the game. Add in AMD and Nvidia probably need more time on their drivers.

I have an i5-2500k overclocked to 4.4Ghz and crossfire 5850s. At lowest settings in BF4 beta, I'm getting 30-40 FPS with dips into the teens. It's completely maxing out my relatively-strong CPU and using up all of my frame buffer. For reference, I get 60 FPS minimum in BF3 at medium/high settings and 1920x1200 resolution.
780 and overclocked 3570K here, newest Nvidia drivers, same problem. I don't know if maybe people running AMD are having better results.

Also don't upgrade to and AMD CPU, high end Intel solutions are far better, anything K series is golden.

thankyou it makes sense now, i will pre-order the game and if i need to i will have to get a gtx 760 (i dont like amd GPU drivers)

What you'll find in real world benchmarks is that the 8350 will keep up with the i5 k's if the game is heavily threaded or GPU bound. If the game is not heavily threaded (most games) and CPU bound, the i5 k's will beat it soundly.

There are not all that many CPU bound games, but many of the more recent cutting edge games are.

In the Beta, at least, you're limited from playable performance by both your CPU and GPU:
BF4 Benchies
The game is just monstrously demanding.

EDIT: I've been running my 2500k at 4.4GHz for the past 18 months, and most games don't need anything more. After starting up the BF4 beta, I was completely CPU limited, locked above 97% on all 4 cores the whole time. Same deal at 5.2 GHz, still didn't hit a minimum of 60 fps.

One thing you can see by these benchmarks is this is a rare game that uses more than 4 cores. It appears to use up to 8 cores with AMD and 7 with Intel (6 cores and 1 thread with HT on the Hexacores).

it supports the fx processors its a 970 board and its click bios II.

i have been playing for several days. my setup 2500k @4ghz, gtx 670 ichill 8gb ram
fps is usually 60 above. first day or 2, horrible rubber banding everywhere.

a few things i did, disable origin in-game. then set network smoothing down to 25.
in-game settings set to auto, mostly high, with 1-3 on ultra i think. mostly playable. a few stutters, but a lot better compared to day1.

I got the 8350 clocked to 4.7 and gtx 680. i got it set to medion settings on my 2560x1440p monitor and i get 60 fps with no less then 52.

My brother has the amd 9590 clocked to normal 4.7 with 5 hz turbo. He has the gtx 770 and gets 60 fps on ultra 1920x1200. We dont have any shutter issue or anything. Some times one the tanks hit one anther or something it gets a little choppy but just the beta

New drivers came out for Nvidia cards that will make the game run a lot better, i have a gtx 650 and i can run high settings at about 50 frames a second.

Here is the drivers link: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-331.40-beta-driver.html

Im running an FX-4100 OC to 4.0 and my 6850 OC and I can pull up to 60 frames on low. The other day I couldn't get over 20, I think is was a server issue or something. Usually Im around 45 fps.
