Ways to improve BF4 performance?

Hello! When playing the BF4 beta on the lowest setting I get ~30 fps with ALOT of lag spikes anyone know what I can do to improve performance or am I just going to have to stick to what I have know.

My Specs
Processor: AMD A8-3850 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~2.9GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8168MB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series
(if you need any other specs let me know)

You could start with a new GPU and see where that gets you. If ultimately you need a new processor/ motherboard, the GPU can easily be used with them.

What would your budget be for a new GPU and what is the make and model of your PSU?

My budget would be probably about 500$. However i'm not sure how to check my PSU make and model. maybe I can get back to you on that later.

Best way is to open the case and read the label in the side of it.

If your budget is that high, I'd wait for the upcoming AMD cards that are rumored to come out this month. BF4 uses AMD's new Mantle software and so it should be optimized to work best on the new cards (should, have to wait for benchmarks).

Alright Ill wait until mid/end October to start looking at things, anything particular to look for? Thanks for the help.

You want to make sure your PSU has plenty of wattage and Amps on the +12 volt rail. When the requirements come out for the new cards you'll be able to gauge where your PSU is at.

I usually try to stay a fair amount over the minimum wattage AMD says is required, leaves a good amount of headroom for upgrades. (i.e. My GPU has a minimum PSU of 400W, but I have a 700W PSU as I'm running 1 SSHD and 2 HDD's and might to OC and Crossfire at some point)
