Will I be able to throw in a gtx 780 or the new amd r9 290x without a bottleneck?

Yes it will allow overclock but is a budget Z87 board so do not expect max overclock like you would get from boards in around the $170-200 mark.

I wasn't planning to go all out on over clocking, still deciding whether to do it or not. I just got the k version for a just in case
