I've been making these sort of posts over the last few months, I'm gonna get computer parts for Christmas to build a computer, I am choosing these parts, here are my current specs.

OS: Windows 8 64 Bits

SSD: Samsung SSD 840 Pro 256 GB

Memory: Vengeance 16GB Dual Channel DDR3

Hard Drive: Seagate Desktop HDD 4 TB SATA 6Gb/s NCQ 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive (x2)

Processor: Intel Core i-7 4770-K

Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 780

Case: Corsair Carbide Series 500R Mid-Case

Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z87

Power Supply: Corsair AX850 850 Watts

That's my rig, is it good? :)

Solution
I have a few tweaks.

I agree with the bad choice on CPU and mobo. MSI is pretty meh in quality. Go with either an Asus or Gigabyte mobo. Also go with an Intel CPU. Get a i7-4770. That will be a better choice than that FX CPU.

For the case, get a Corsair 500R. The 200R wont sit those two GPUs very happily and give decent air flow but the 500R will.

For the HDD, the 4TB is nice but its a 5900RPM drive. Get the Seagate 3TB 7200RPM HDD instead.

For the SSD, I would recommend going with a Intel 520 or a Samsung 840 Evo. Both are the best in the industry in reliability and offer great performance.

For the PSU, get a Corsair AX850 or a Seasonic 850w Platinum. Both are fully modular and both are 80+ Platinum certified meaning they are way...

It all looks good with the exception of the cpu. If you want to stay AMD get an 8320 or 8350 depending on their price differences, or you could go intel with a 4670 or 4770 though theres nothing wrong with a 8320

Thx, btw is there like a, FPS calculator to determine how much FPS you'll get on rigs?

Memory is ok. I am not a fan of Kingston, I prefer Corsair but its not the worst memory.

As for the GPUs, currently AMDs GPUs have some issues with frame pacing in multi GPU setups. If you plan on multi-monitor setups a NVidia SLI setup will be better or if you plan on only one monitor then just get one HD 7970. And make sure its a Vapor-X, it cools way better than stock or the Dual-X version. Also if its for Christmas then you may also want to wait and get a R9-290X instead.

The only thing I have no issue with is the OS. I like 8 and am loving 8.1 as well.

Thx for helping :3

I'm editing my rig specs, what kind of Corsair memory do you recommend? I'm building my rig for intense video editing and gaming.

Cool, hopefully this can run games like BF4 or Metro on high settings smoothly
