Computer turns on but no beep or display

Last night I left my computer on to download some things while I slept. I woke up 8 hours later to find that my computer had frozen. So I turned it off and waited a few minutes and powered it back on. The mobo speaker didn't beep and nothing came up on the display but the fans and lights still turned on. I knew right away that something was wrong since I didn't hear the mobo beep. I powered it down and opened it up to make sure all cables and everything were in place and nothing looked abnormal. I unplugged my hard drives and took my ram out and reset them all. Turned the computer back on and still no beep or display. I decided to take the cmos batter out for about 20 min and let it reset to see if that fixed it. Nope, same results. At this point I just decided to take the PC apart. Opened it up and took pretty much everything out besides the cpu. Then I put the parts back in one by one and powered on each time I installed a new part. Got the same results every time. I worked on it all day trying suggestions from these forums and YouTube videos and it's still doing the same thing.

The conclusion I came to is that either my motherboard or my psu is dead. I can't figure out which one though. As I said before my fans and lights still come on. Even the psu fan still works. I can hear my hard drives power on too but the hard drive light doesn't flicker at all. Something that i should mention is the day before this happened I started getting cmos checksum errors when I booted up my computer. The couple times that it happened I hit "load default values and continue". I also got the "could not boot from device" error a couple times but when I disconnected my extra hard drive that seemed to fix that error. I noticed after getting these errors that my msi boot logo screen would stay up a few seconds longer than it had before. Usually it's only there for a second. But after the errors happened it would be there for about 3 to 5 seconds which is unusually long.

Also when I took the parts out of my PC after it wouldn't boot I finally decided to take the cpu out just to be sure there were no problems with it. The only thing I noticed was the edges around the silver square on the top looked a little bit eroded. I was sure if that was normal or if thermal paste did that. I never over heated my PC and always paid close attention to temps so I don't think that's anything to worry about. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Anyway I'll list my PC specs below. Any help at all would be great as I'm really frustrated with this.

Mobo - Msi 760gm-p34
Cpu - AMD fx 8120
Heatsink - hyper 212 evo
Gpu - xfx radeon hd 7850 1gb
Ram - 8GB 1333
Storage - 1TB HD and a 500GB HD
Psu - 700w

If no beeps with only CPU and CPU fan connected, it's motherbord CPU or power supply. Since the CPU fan is spinning, we can rule out the power supply. You can try replacing the CMOS battery with a new one, but I'd say it's either motherboard or CPU. I would RMA them both.

Another test I just tried is booting the computer on with the cpu installed but without the Heatsink. I kept my finger on the cpu until I felt it get warm which took about 3 seconds and then shut the computer off. I know you aren't supposed to do that but it didn't get very hot. Just barley warm. I just wanted to be sure there was some activity within the cpu. I know that doesn't necessarily mean it's not broken though.

However people have been telling me that even if the fans (including the Heatsink fan) turn on it can still mean the psu is shot and only has enough power for the fans and not enough to boot up.

I really hope it's not the cpu.

Also I should mention that when I turn the computer on it will stay on. All the fans including the gfx card fan will all be running. I've noticed some people saying when this happens to them their computer only stays on for a few seconds then shuts off. Mine doesn't shut off. I figured this might be critical in pinpointing the problem.

I'm having the same problem.

The only REAL solution for me was to buy a new PSU (a good one, from a good brand with at least Gold Plus certification). I'm saying that because I already checked my processor. Most of the not-POSTing PC's problems originates from both processor and/or PSU.

My guess is, if you have a poorly PSU (and I think you have it, since you didn't post the brand on the original post), just buy a new one. Its probably his fault.

i have the same problem... when i turn on my pc for a while its good but then the monitor goes black or no display anymore, i notice that the fans running, all fans, but i also notice that it hangs because the process led is not blinking the keyboard light is gone, just the green light on, this happen without error beeps etc, i use processor, cpu fans, psu, ram, etc except the mobo to another mobo and all is running good,... so i think the problem is in the mobo,... my motherboard is MSI G41M-P28 this is the one that has the error,....
