I'm going to be building a gaming PC during January and i want to know if i should get a Gtx 670 for my Gpu. i am picking the Nvidia route and i want to know if a 670 will be enough to play games at 1080p at high settings and good frame rates. any help would be brilliant and much appropriated :)

Hello,

The 670 is probably a good budget choice at the moment, as the costs come down as it gets older. It's a little better than the 760, which is already a proven gaming card that is a good gamer at 1080P. However, it does overclock better and, even though you cant really compare a stock 670 to an overclocked 760, the 760 does have more longevity.

Which country are you situated in? I know that over here in the UK the 7970 and the 670 are similar prices, with the 7970 being a little better than the 670 - i.e better that a 760.

Best Regards
Luke

hi i'm living in Australia where Amd cards are only marginally cheaper and even so i would still like to go through Nvidia to get cuda cores and physx. i was planning on getting a Msi 670. in your opinion should i get a 760 instead?

I would say get the 760. SkyComp has a good deal on one for $304 (incl GST):
http://www.skycomp.com.au/item/Leadtek-GTX-760-PCI-E-3-0-2GB-256-bit-DDR5-6008-MHz-Core-Boost-980-1033-MHz-DVI-I-DVI-D-HDMI-DP.aspx

And yes, ATi cards are only marginally cheaper over there whereas here, they are markedly so. I guess that's because they're Canadian. LOL
