I am using a DVI-I to VGA adapter on my AMD HD 6850 to one monitor and a VGA to VGA cable on a spare 9400GT NVIDIA to another smaller monitor.Since the 9400GT does not support Physx (GPU-Z shows that it doesn't),I want to know will it cause any problems in the long run?All drivers are updated for both cards and apart from running in PCI-Ev2.0 x8 mode for both,I have not noticed any system crashes/freezes/lockups.
Note-I have not installed Hybrid Physx.
What I want to know is ,right now,is gaming on the HD 6850 and all monitoring programs on the 9400GT monitor going to cause problems in the long run?I don't mind if the 9400GT dies out ,but will it take down all my other system components as well? Also,CPU usage and temps/GPU usage and temps are perfectly normal.

Well done! What you are doing is fine and dandy and should be held up as a glowing example to all those numpty's that keep on telling people that you have to uninstall one makers drivers before you can install and run the other makers card, so far the only OS you had to do that on was Vista but the twazocks don't take any notice of that and keep droning on about driversweeper programs.

I already have, without clearing out CMOS.I already had the HD 6850 and a spare monitor.I wanted to add the spare monitor to the HD 6850,but there being no VGA port on it,I just plugged in the 9400GT on my motherboard in desperation.Booted up my system, windows installed generic drivers (WDDM v1.2,I think) and I got display on the second monitor. Then this morning, booted up my PC again and a 'NVIDIA Control panel' applet was there in my Control panel. So,I want to know, will cause any harm in the long run?Mafia II runs fine,on the monitor plugged to the HD 6850.
