basically I tested the power supply while connected to the hard drive and optical drive and they all worked fine. but the 24 pin connector doesn't fit in at all, even with incredible force. i can put in enough to spin the cpu cooler and psu fans for a split second then it turns off. nothing else works. I do not know what part is in fault or if i simply haven't connected everything, but i can't fully connect the 24 pin connector. any help will be greatly appreciated!
UPDATE: I know he connector only goes in one way, it is faulty and will not latch. could my mb be faulty? is the circuit not complete?

The 24 pin connector goes in only one way and should not have to be forced. There is a clip on one side that should allow it to click into place. Look carefully at the socket to make sure that there is not anything in it to prevent it from fitting in and also look at the connector as well. One of these two items is at fault here.

the pins all look ok, i might just get a replacement of the psu. but then again i dont know that the motherboard isn't the problem either
