I would like to wipe my company's windows 2003 server. we have 2 partitions - c & d and they are mirrored thru the os - this is a dell 2950 with a perc5i controller. the mirror is nothing fancy raid 0, not sure I understand what happen to the operating system when you do a wipe - I would like to maintain the operating system but not have any personal info in it. thank you in advance for your assistance and help.

The absolute best way would be just a full reinstall. It is near impossible 'maintain the operating system', and ensure that no corporate info exists in the Registry.

IP addresses, passwords from some long forgotten application, etc.

OK, if I do that way can I simply reinstall from the CD which we used to install in the first place.

Assuming you also have the product key for activation, yes.

Ok, one more question - can I re-set partition size when I do the re-install?

Been a long time since I did a Server2003 install, but yes, I think so.

during the install you should see the current partition layout. If you intent to keep the partition sizes just format each partition, otherwise delete the partitions and manually create the sizes you need.

also RAID0 is not a mirror but RAID1 is.
