i just bought a new 32gb sdhc card for my canon 1100d camera. everytime i put it in the camera it says "card cannot be accessed. reinsert/change the card or format card with caemra" when i try to format the card with the camera it says "cannot format. Change card" i then try to format the card on my computer and everytime i attempt to do this it says that it cannot format the card because it is write protected. what should i do?

I assume from the title that the card definitely has a write-protect switch on it?
If this appears to be defective, return the card to the shop or to the manufacturer if it's a well-known brand (ie SanDisk & Integral provide a warranty with their cards, cheaper brands do not (that's why they are cheap).

Or just bite the bullet, throw it away and buy one which doesn't have a write-protect switch on it. If they all have a switch, buy a top quality one which is less likely to be defective.
