I have heard so many things about the AMD and Nvidia war that right now I really don't know what's gonna happen in the coming months. So let's list what we do know

1. The consoles are using AMD
- More optimization for gaming on AMD

2. Nvidia usually has better performance
- not always but normally 65/35 split

3. AMD and Nvidia price difference
- while Nvidia usually carries the torch AMD cards are usually quite cheaper especially right now

4. AMD has OpenCL optimization
- good for some people

5. Nvidia has CUDA tech
- good for Adobe based programs/etc...

6. Nvidia seems to be winning but possible price gouging on their part
- AMD hasn't really been taking it to em at price for a while til now so it seems they've gotten a little extreme on prices'COUGH' TITAN $1000 'COUGH'.

and those are the facts...
note that I don't take sides with team red or team green. I make purchases on benchmarks, prices, drivers, issues with the card, and basically all around support for that card... please No fanboying, and If I forgot something just add it.

The point of this is not to fuel the fires of war, but more or less get what your opinion is on the upcoming Generation and tally the score as to which team is more preferable for now and future support.

If this turns into a flamefest it will be deleted.

I clearly stated no Faboyism in the context above, I just want honest opinions really and I feel like I clearly stated the ups and downs of both camps so that's all out of the way. It's sad that people can't talk about things as simple as PC components without getting mad at other people. I am totally ok with that by the way, I was trying my best to give both sides fair credit and nonbias respect.

You wanna give your input?

I prefer Nvidia and always have done but I recently bought an AMD card to see whether their drivers had improved and I'm sad to they haven't as I've had a lot of the problems that have been posted about over the years.

Catalyst has been found lacking in my book to, I wish they would create proprietary software like the Geforce Experience, which I believe to be one of Nvidia's best ideas. It drops all the hassle of going out and grabbing drivers which can be a pain sometimes/most times. I own a Visiontek 7850 right now and it was an OK card for $200 range, but now I want more and one of my good buddies just got a GTX770 EVGA, so I'm really wanting to upgrade to something with a little bit more get up and go. Take into consideration I'm a college student as well so any money I can save I try my damnedest to do so. I think that's usually why I side AMD, but I totally understand Nvidia's appeal. I really wanted a 770 but I want to wait and see what's going on with the new R9 280s. I have the money right now but I wanna see price to performance comparisons of the 2 against one another then I'll make my decision. what card did you pick up from AMD?

Not yet it ain't, unless you're a rabid fanboy of course in which case a dog egg with an AMD logo on it would be the best thing in the world and a game changer as well.

I've always had great luck with Radeon drivers, never a single issue. Nvidia on the other hand... nothing but trouble for me personally.

As for the question itself, I think they are both going to 'pull through' ...At least I really hope they both pull through because if one of them dies us consumers are going to find ourselves stuck with a dead market and no push for the 'winner' to improve :(

so far i don't think so. if they want mantle to be successful they need developer to willingly to use it without being pushed by amd to use it. just like no one forcing developer to use directx or opengl when making games on the pc

I feel AMD has Square Enix, Crytek, Ubisoft, and a few others in pocket so I think mantle will be successful.
