Hello, this is my first crack at over clocking a cpu. I followed a guide that is very well detailed so that helped.

Here's where I'm stuck:

-passed Prime95 small fft for 8.5 hrs.
-passed Occt linpack for 1 hr.
-passed memtest86+ for 1.5 hrs

Failed Occt Large data set @ 2 hrs and 20 minutes.
Windows 7_64 bit
I7-860
Mb: Gigabyte p55_ud4p
Hyper 212 evo
Bclk 181
CPU multiplier 21
CPU frequency 3.8 ghz
Load line calibration enabled
Ram g.skill 8 GB sniper 1600 cl9 (8x mem. multiplier)
-therefore it's under clocked @ 1448, is that OK?

Hyper-thread ON (I do use it, so not turning it off)
Power saving features off
Turbo off

Vcore 1.275
Qpi/Vtt 1.25
Temperatures: idle 38 cel., 77 load during Occt test

Can you please suggest where to go from here?
I have bumped up Vcore 1 notch to 1.28125, and currently running Occt large data set again.
Note: screen turns off and on during test, is that normal?
Note: Cpu-z reports 1.296 volts, why is that?

Cheers,
Marc
P.s. pleas advise if I'm missing some important data to tell you.

Well, I bumped the Vcore to 1.28125 and ran OCCT - Large data set for 4 hours, which is an improvement.
I'll run it again later.

I think 3.8 Ghz. is going to do it for me. I'm not happy with the temperatures as I strive to 3.9 ghz, let alone 4. Good enough for now, if what I have is stable.
