I recently bought a Sapphire Radeon 7870, not realizing that the computer was running on a god-awful 300 watt power supply. (Lite-On PS-5301-08HA). The computer is an hp pavilion p6127c, and has fairly good components (Asus Benicia motherboard, 750 gb hard drive, 6 gb RAM, Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 processor).
The problem is that I cannot install any new parts because of the power limitations. The card needs 500 watts, so realistically with a power-hungry card and cpu I may need a lot of wattage. I don't have a lot of extra money lying around, but I would be willing to put down a bit more cash to get my computer into gaming condition. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the PSU I should buy that would be reliable, compatible, and of moderate price range?
