XFX graphics cards

Im planning on getting a radeon hd 7950 xfx 3gb. Is this a good graphics card (temperature wise) because I read some reviews and that was the problem for some people. Also if there are any other problem you know about mention them please.

JD88. Why would you avoid XFX?. Is there something wrong with this card?. I was considering either the Zotac 770GTX-SLI or the XFX 280X crossfire. The XFX is £240 at Dabs and the 770GTX is £250 at Ebuyer. Which would you recommend?. I read USA Amazon reviews on XFX 280X and there are quite a few differing opinions. Issues with VRM cooling, and crossfire. But when I checked UK reviews (especially on Scan), all the buyers are very happy with the XFX 280X. Advice?.

I did have an Asus 7990HD, purchased from Amazon about 6 weeks ago (for £400!) but that thing got so damn hot, games kept crashing and pc would shut down. I have a 1200w coolermaster silent pro gold psu with 5 years warranty!.

I really regret selling my Zotac 780GTX. Big mistake. Sold it because I thought I was 'upgrading' to the 7990HD. I have also noticed that AMD drivers are not as good as Nvidia.

I am a bit short on cash right now, hence considering crossfire 280X or SLI 770GTX. I have seen some bench reviews and apparently the 770GTX SLI absolutely trounces the Titan, 780GTX and 7990HD in bench mark scores.
