What amount of a power supply is enough for a normal PC & which add-on components increase the need of power supply?
& if a PC needs 300w & I install 600w, will there be any bad effect on the whole system?
am Curious to know these....

Depends on your definition of "normal PC". The average around these is 700W imo.

Everything that draws power. As simple as that.
But the components that usually draw the most power are of course the GPU and CPU.

I´d say go with a 600/650W PSU which will leave you with lots of headroom.
Also, I don´t think the price difference between a 500W and a 600/650W PSU would be big enough to consider one.

As for a particular PSU, I´d just go with one of the big brands like Corsair, BeQuiet, XFX or Seasonic.

I found this Case for my mobo..which comes with pre-powered PSU of 500W..do you think it will be enough for my needs...I wont be installing a 2nd PCI card..
& I have changed my mind about the CPU & Mobo..
ASUS B85M-G LGA 1150
Intel Core i3 4130
WD -1Tb 7200 Rpm
Corsair Or Kingston Ram 12 Gb
Geforce 650 Ti Or Radeon 7770
