I noticed that the cx750m has 2 8-pin ports on the back. They are titled 6+2 pci-e and 4+4 cpu. The PSU already has a non modular 4+4 cpu connecter coming out of the back. So my question is what is that 4+4 cpu port for? A second cpu or can it be used for a video card as well? Or both? Thanks for any help.

Solution
The Corsair CX750M isn't targeted at enthusiast builds. It's Corsairs bargain basement budget series built with lower quality components to meet the low price point.

If you look at a high end semi-modular 750W PSU it has a lot more modular connectors on the PSU than the CX750M.

The two modular 8-pin ports labeled 6+2 PCI-E & 4+4 CPU can both be used for PCI-E Supplementary power connectors for graphics cards since two modular PCI-E cables are included for that purpose.

No modular CPU power cable is included in the modular cable pack.

Could for an extra CPU power connector like here:

Or indeed for a mobo with two CPUs

Strange you guys say the CX series is poor (not saying you're wrong), because here's my experience. My CXM600 has been owing my build perfectly fine for 6 months, not one issue (I did initially think I had could coil whine, but I think that was my optical drive). Upgraded to an Antec unit yesterday. Higher power rating, continuous power, 80 plus gold, more cables and it went bad in less than 12 hours. My rig now sits unplugged and with no power cable just to protect itself and anything else that's plugged in to the power strip. And there's the whole fire hazard aspect

Well, I know this is an ancient thread, just wanted to give my feedback, and ask a question while I'm at it.
I bought this PSU back in Oct 2014 and it's still going strong, no issues whatsoever.
Now, I'm planning on upgrading my system to an i5-12600K with ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming WiFi D4. I noticed this mobo had two CPU connectors, and I've been scratching my head trying to figure out if this PSU is compatible. The PSU comes with a built-in CPU power cord, and doesn't come with a modular CPU power cable. But, will it work if I bought a modular CPU power cable?
