Anytime you mix DRAM it can be problematic, even with the same exact model, best to get a single package of the amount you want, that way you get a set that is tested to work together and for 1600 and up the set is programmed properly for XMP to work....they may play together or may not, if not can face returns, RMAs, restocking etc, just giving a warning
