I was recently doing research comparing between the ASRock Extreme11 and ASUS Rampage IV Extreme, I heard good things about both, and overclockers highly recommend The Rampage IV Extreme, I also heard that there will be a Black Edition of it, however, I'm currently confused, the Extreme11 can run 4-way SLi on 16x/16x/16x/16x configuration, which is insanely fast, it also has a better onboard sound quality, in the other hand, I didn't see a single overclocker recommending anyone to buy the Extreme11, although they say it's good, most of the overclockers I know own the Rampage IV Extreme..

The extra 16X you see is port multiplexing via PLX chips. The latency penalty of adding the extra hops usually leads to lower FPS rather than higher. The reason PLX are added is so that extra devices can be added onboard.

Bottom line is that in multi-GPU situations, a direct path to the CPU even running at 8X outscores a PLX solution's 16X. This has been the case right back to the NF200 era.

The place a PLX helps is when the extra lanes are a requirement for additional devices. Consider that in the case where adding a controller IC to the board requires an extra 2x lanes. As the additional devices does not require that bandwidth all the time, multiplexing the lanes, allows for a reasonable performance level.

I go with the majority, I've built on the Asus and it's an awesome mobo (only one I've found that can reliably run 64GB of 2400), OCs well, just an overall great mobo, but haven't had anybody yet that want's to go with the EX11, price and reviews are often mentioned

I don't want to go with the majority, I want the best motherboard, the ASRock Extreme11 is probably better than the Rampage IV Extreme, because it has more PCI-E Slots and can run 4-way SLi at their best. I want someone who can differ between the two, price and performance for money does not have to be mentioned.

So you're saying that the Extreme11 can load more stuff but I also found out that it has more features than the Extreme IV Rampage, can you list the advantages of the Rampage IV Extreme over the Extreme11?

I don't have the Extreme 11 for obvious reasons (work for ASUS). Just compare specs and see what you need and take it from there. The specs are quite in-depth and should give you the answers you need on a purchasing decision.
