I'm running an E8400 on the Asus P5G41T-M LE. Now i orded Corsair DDR3 1333 8gb (2x4gb) XMS3 memory.

With the new RAM module inserted the system will not boot (Both tried 1 or 2 modules). Fans start spinning although blackscreen and NO post. Putting back the old 2gb RAM does make the system start normal.
The specifications of the motherboard do say 1333 ram is supported bij (OC) overclock. I assumed the 1333 would run at 1067. My old RAM which does work also is Corsair.

The new RAM is not on the QVL of my motherboard although this one is short.
It's 1333, 9-9-9-24 at 1.5v.

With the old ram inserted i tried forcing 1333 or 1067 mode, i even tried overclocking my FSB and setting the Ram voltage to 1.61. Even setting the timings manually. All this didnt had any effect, putting in the new RAM wont make the system boot/POST.

Is there anything i could try? Or should i return the memory because it is probably incompatible?

PS. Tried the New memory in other system and works normally.

Thanks,

Well you started right, to run 1333 the FSB will need to be at 1333 or higher, which will also OC your CPU (so will need to add a little vCore voltage (CPU voltage, also the DRAM at 1333 is going to require some additional voltage to the NB which is where your MC (memory controller is). try raising the NB voltage up + 0.07 for a start

Well first of all, the fact the system shows no screen when new ram is installed, i keep to put back the old RAM to change settings. Is this a sign the RAM is not compatible? Or is it normal and should i just find the correct settings?

I tried setting the timing manually, although can you guys check if it needs some more editing?

These are the overclock options

I also played with the NB and VTT voltage although no difference, still wont give any screen/beep. fan do run though.

i just ran into the same issue.
the manual says its up to 4GB supported, which i find... stupid! but it wouldnt work with one module either.. so i guess its something else
