I have a hard time deciding on what video card to buy since i got a great deal on the 580, apparently my friend wants to sell his gtx 580 to me since he no longer needs it for 156$, but the gtx 760 is sold for 325$ which isn't a much for a graphics card where i live so it's also a great deal. One problem though since he has no mini-hdmi to hdmi adaptor which I need because I have a 24" 1920x1080p monitor with built in speakers and don't know where to find these adaptors from where I live neither how much they cost. You can use DVI but i'd rather have HDMI if that's possible.

I live in Sweden if anyone wonders.

The 760 is faster in a good majority of things and uses less power. So it's a better card, but for the money you'd save it's hard to say if it's worth the extra money, only you can answer that.

GTX760 is about 15-20% better than the GTX580 http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_7... but the 580 is at great price and you should be able to google the adapter.
In the end it is your choice but the efficiency is in favor of the 760, power consumption and so on.

I'm not asking which one is faster or better i'm asking which one is worth the money. I have a budget on 900$ so I would prefer not pay more than I have to for a decent card that can play todays games at high settings with good and stable fps and if the gtx 580 can do that I don't see why I should pay more than double for performance I won't have any use of. I will use most of the budget money on the GPU, so is the gtx 580 enough for my needs and is it more p/p than the 760? Note that he has clocked it but the card isn't old and worn out since I remember he bought it less than a year ago when it was on sale.

Both cards will be overclocked and both will run on 1 monitor, they are both high end cards but which one suits me the best is the question....

If you want the faster card get the 760, If the budget is more important get the 580.

He found the hdmi to mini-hdmi adapter! Guess the 580 is the obvious choice?

Yes for that price, it allows you to spend more on other parts.
