My son had a PC and if frooze a few times and checking specy it was hitting 65-70 degree's at idle after 5mins. opened it up and found that the heat sink wasnt locked. I removed it and the thermal paste was patchy at best.
cleaned CPU and heatsink with isoprep and non static pads, reapplied heatsink and locked it down
Not it doesnt post GGRRR!!
Got the PC advisor Card and shows up code "CF" look an this is because
(CF)Initialization after KB controller BAT done. Keyboard command byte to be
written next.
I cant find any thing of the web for a fix for this. Ive done all the normal stuff, reseated PSU cable/GFX card/Memory and every single cable and still nothing.
Change GFX card, RAM, Removed wireless card unpugged all drivers and still get the "CF" code
Removed CMOS battery and cleared CMOS and still nothing.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what this error actually means and if there is a fix for it.
