So I tried playing the battlefield 4 beta at 1440x900 medium settings and I got on average 20fps.

Here are my specs

Amd Athlon x4 640
4GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 550 TI
550W Antec PSU
M2N68-LA (Narra6) - motherboard

Obviously in my opinion a problem with my specs at the moment is that I only have 4gb ram. But to get more i'll need to purchase a new motherboard, case and OS which is fine but that means I will only have enough money to upgrade either the CPU or GPU.

I was wondering which would be more important to upgrade?

Thanks for any help

I dont think I can overclock with my motherboard. I should have mentioned what my motherboard is; its a M2N68-LA (Narra6). Its stock 3ghz.

This is true. What I suppose i'm asking is what would be more beneficial for me to upgrade my GPU or CPU.

You would get more gain out of upgrading your CPU right now, although I would highly suggest a GPU upgrade as well, a 760 would be more than sufficient to get good framerates in BF4 at decent (medium/high) settings when they finish optimizing it

I think it's the servers more then anything else. I got virtually the same frame rate going from ultra to low settings on my 770. A guy in one of the games I was in said he was having the same problem with a GTX 780. The game looks good but it's not that much better looking the BF3.

I have an I5 3750k Nvidia 660ti and I run 60+fps easy my buddy has the same vid card only running AMD 6 core and he lags so bad he cant play. We benchmark almost the same I am a little faster on physics score. I do have an SSD though and wonder if that might not be helping me with 16gig ram and the 120gig ssd.
