i have never used windows 8 before, but just started using recently. I installed Assassin's Creed 1 , Fifa 13 and Battlefield 3 , but neither game even launches. I cannot find any solution online whatsoever!
The games worked well earlier on my previous laptop in windows 7.

Are you using Origin to play Battlefield, Fifa? because if you go to Origin's support website I am sure you will find your fix there as for the AC1 problem I am unsure you have not really given us any indication of truly seeking assistance because you have not given us any information regarding your hardware, what the actual problem is.

Do the launchers start and then nothing happens, what exactly is happening? If you click the exe does it show the icon on the taskbar and then close or what?

I have used Win 8 for nearly a year now and I am one of the few people who actually like it.

I also game on it every single day (at least the days I am home) so I can with certainty say it is not the OS. Have you installed the proper drivers...

Is your Direct X version up to date and compatible with the games mentioned? (Looking at BF3)

Can your pc actually run some of the mentioned games? (You mentioned your previous laptop, however this laptop might not be as good so I have to ask)

Hello matrixneo. I am also a Windows 8 user and in first I had the same problem. Well, I fixed it by getting an NVidia graphic card and updating all my drivers. Okay so I'll tell you a few ways. First open your device manager and check your video drivers and make sure you have a good gaming graphic card. If that's okay then maybe the graphic memory isn't sufficient cause Battlefield 3 is one big game. The other two well, not so much. I'm using Windows 8 and I have played Assassins Creed 3, Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row and other big games, they work fine.
