Hi everyone. I'm writing here because i have a problem while playing Planetside 2. In bigger battles with higher concentration of people and vehicles my fps is about 25-30. That's ok. But sometimes in big battles or even when i'm alone or with 5-10 players, my fps drops to 4-6. This drop lasts 2-3 minutes and then my fps gets back to normal for 15-20 minutes and the drop comes again. I hope that someone has a solution for this problem.
My specs: AMD FX-4130 4x3.8 Ghz
ATI Radeon HD 7770 1GB
4 Gb RAM

Planetside 2 is a very poorly optimized. It's also very CPU demanding at the moment. You'll notice you aren't even using 100% of your cpu, but if you hit alt+f in game, it'll show your fps and what is bottlenecking. It's almost always the CPU. People on 2k+ rigs aren't holding 60+ in huge battles because the game needs work.

The company has launched Operation Make Faster Game - full dedicated to essentially re-writing code to better support cores, along with fixing the random FPS drop.

Some guys told me that 4 Gb Ram is too little and that i should get 4 GB more.

4 GB RAM is on the low end for gaming. 8 is the 'rule of thumb', and another over 8 won't be utilized by games alone. I would strongly recommend getting 4 more.

Now is the RAM the reason why you are spiking in frames? Likely not, but you surely could use some more. As I mentioned before with the Operation Make Faster Game, they currently have 3 videos of progress. At about 1:30 in the 2nd link is when it discusses the blip in your FPS. Again, optimization.
