the last two years they been bleeding money and eng people do to layoffs. right now there pushing there funding in the gpu war with nvidia where they have a chance of being number one gpu company again. right now there no way they can beat intel cpu. intel keeps leap frogging them on there tic-toc cycle.

AMD is just too far behind Intel (over 2 years) now. Would be nice if they did compete, but AMD already admitted they will not compete against intel anymore. And with many layoffs and losing money, there isn't much hope for the higher-end cpus.
You never know streamroller kaveri looks like it will kick a i3 and hell richland is very close to a i5 3330 in performance while gaming i have seen can be a bit let down its a all round chip which struts its stuff enough to be attractive
http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-3330-vs-AMD-A10-6800K
i do believe the apu kaveri will rock the boat for intels low end
pentium
i3 and low end i5s
streamroller fx may compete with i5 3570k if they get there power down and there performance up as a 8350 isnt really a good comparison uses to much energy to be worth it and most times costs same.
kaveri looks to have something of a 7750 as a gpu so that in itself is going to slap nvidias lower end markets
whos gonna pick up a gt 630 or gt 640 when they can get a apu with practically same performance plus par it with what we all assume a 7750 to 7770 possibly 7790 who knows.
it will put the squeeze on intels market
the only selling point they have is i7 and later on broadwell which i doubt will be much impact as i suspect the next apu will put the squeeze on intel
funny thing is intel have got lazy with haswell and this may cost them as haswell wasnt a big jump.
