I seem to have either a faulty card, or, drivers. I made 'sure' to update my entire computer and check all drivers. Games just keep crashing to desktop and/or Windows 7 'has recovered from a fatal error and needed to be restarted' message. Here is what I have done so far:
Ran MemTest...passed > ran CheckDsk...passed...took entire comp apart...re-connected and re-seated all components as well as clean out any 'dust-bunnies' inside [was clean] > re-installed Windows 7 64-Bit and 'all' updates > re-installed all games and updated > updated all drivers for entire comp > did a Tracert and Path Ping in the event it was a connection issue...passed > ran HeatTest...passed > checked hardware/software compatibility test...passed > and installed updated drivers for this GPU.
First time I downloaded from AMD/ATI official site, Windows 7 shutdown to 'recover from a fatal error' [I noticed it happened during .NET 4.5 install] while downloading the GPU driver. 2nd time, it happened again. 3rd time, it finished downloading. Once I opened WoW and started playing, game crashed and minimized again. I'd have to do a ctrl/alt/del and close it via Task Manager.
So, after much ado, I checked forums on Google, and apparently this card has a habit of NOT accessing all of the 2GB of Mem it comes with and games crash. So, I got it RMA'd asap. And that took some doing as well. I shall be receiving a 'replacement' card of the same Model, Spec, etc this coming Wednesday. Customer Support from NewEgg told me if the card fails again, they will give me a refund.
However, if there is a 'work-around' anyone knows of, or a hot-fix, or any other solution, I'd like to keep this card if it works as intended upon arrival Wednesday.
Anyone? Have a fix? Solution? Same problem? Please get back to me asap, if it's NOT worth my time and/or effort to keep it. I'll go NVidia instead. TY in advance.
PS: I run an A10-6800K @4.5Ghz with 16GB 1866Mhz Corsair Vengeance Pro Mem, and my APU does NOT crash. Same components, same configurations, same clocks. How can my APU run 'better/stable' than the above named GPU? And 'no'...it was NOT Crossfired in any way shape or form, nor did I even 'attempt' to OC the GPU, as it's OC'd from factory.
Again, TY in advance[/u]
