I just built my computer which includes an intel 330 series 120gb SSD and a 2TB WD black HDD. I designated my SSD to boot up my system and I put a couple of games on it, but the problem is that it is listed as my C drive so everything I download goes on there. Can anybody tell me how I get my HDD to be my C drive?

Solution

The SSD stays as your C. This is what Windows and most applications expect.
What you actually do is retarget default locations.

On your HDD, create a few folders. I use MyStuff, with subfolders of MyDocs, MyPics, MyVideos, etc.
Also, MyDownloads.

In Windows Explorer:
Right click on Documents
Select Properties
Click Add, or Add location (wording differes between Win7 and 8)
Select the MyDocs folder you created above...

Select the MyDocs folder you created above
Back in Document Properties dialog box, click on Set Save Location

Repeat for any other folders/locations that you wish to go to the other drive.

For stuff you download via the browser:
Again, in Windows Explorer, right click on Downloads
Change the "Target" to somewhere you created on the other drive.

Done.

For installing applications/games:

Select Custom or Advanced in the install routine. Don't just blindly accept the defaults

For Steam games, you can designate one or more alternate locations
In the Steam client:
Steam-Settings-Steam Library Folders-Add Library Folder
