I am building my first PC. It's primary use will be gaming followed by general surfing. My main played game is Guild Wars 2. That is why I chose a more powerful CPU. I will upgrade my GPU in a year or so, but I am going to college before too long so I am can't really splurge now. I wanted the CPU though for Guild Wars 2. Will this build allow me to play most games on high setting? I plan to use the optical drive from my last PC. Here it is: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/dj00015/saved/2wcY Thank you for the help.

YEs it will play high settings. Some things should be changed.

-PSU is junk. Change to XFX, Corsair, Antec, Seasonic
-only need 500w.
-Case is junk. Look at antec, Corsair, Fractal design, NZXT, Coolermaster
-Cannot overclock on that motherboard. Change to a z87 board or get a non-k CPU.

Hi
from my experience :
MMORPG = alot loading of files that are not on the server

The build i s good but you gonna bottleneck on the HDD
advice :
Add second hdd - f.e. 500 , 1000 GB HDD
or
Add 120 -256 GB SSD as OS and keep 2-d 500 - 1000GB HDD for data and GAMES

MMORPG wit one HDD will go crazy LAG on "butterfly read& write " ...... if you have SSD you Guild Wars will load 10x times faster and this build is more than fine to hit the Server bottleneck.

I have updated my build and added a 120GB SDD. Will that be enough for Windows 8 and Guild Wars 2? Here is the updated link: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/dj00015/saved/2wcY Is this better? And will the HD 7870 bottleneck the 4670k very bad? Or is it a good budget card?

Ok, I followed your suggestion. I have one last question. I have a new 32" 1080p HDTV which I got as a graduation gift. Would I notice performance or lag issues if i played the PC through it? I don't have the money to buy a new monitor. I am on a tight budget. I have heard of input lag, but will it really be that noticeable? I'm not a professional gamer or anything.
