I'd like it to last as long as the upgrading console generations without having to upgrade it.

More about : console generation upgrade

Not at all. Your computer is overkill for games and will be fine for quite some time.

Okay, I haven't ordered the parts yet, so do you have any suggestions on what to change?

Get an i5, get a single 770 or a single 780. Everything else looks good.

Both the Titan and GTX 690 are overkill big time and a complete and total waist of money big time with no doubt.

As said above get a i5 and a single GTX 770. Unless you are gaming on more than one monitor or Ultra HD you will not need more than a single GTX 770.

As for the i7 it will do nothing at all for gaming and infact can hurt gaming performance as games just do not know how to deal with the 4 fake cores in the i7 causing some games to stutter. The way it is fixed is to turn off HT in the BIOS thus turning the i7 into a i5.

I really do not understand suggesting a $1000 GPU to fit with a single 23" monitor it is so out place it is not even funny. Plus it is a waist for some one that does not know and goes out and buys it because of a recommendation when they are asking for help. If he were trying to setup a ulta high end rig with 3 monitors or something it "might" be an option but he is not.

I agree that both the Titan and 690 are overkill for single monitor systems today - but the OP asked for a system which he will not be upgrading and he wants it to last as long as a console generation(which was 7 years last time). I dont think a 770 will last 7 years or even 5 years(and play games on highish settings) while a 690 or titan might just do that.
It is overkill today but it is also extremely future proof.
