(i5 4670k) Protective Film on Stock Heatsink?

When installing the heatsink I did not notice any plastic film on the bottom of the heatsink covering the thermal paste nor was it in the manual... Now that it's on, i'm second guessing myself and I don't have any thermal paste if I were to re apply...

check your idle and load temps if they're okay then you shouldn't have to worry about it too much
if anything just buy some thermal paste for ~$7 and clean the heatsink with rubbing alcohol and reapply
