I have an ASUS P8Z77-V Pro motherboard that just will not detect my OCZ Vertex 2 Solid state drive. I just finished building the PC and was going to install Windows 8 onto the SSD but I can't get the bios to detect it.
I have since installed the OS onto a regular HDD just so that I could play around with my new build and maybe install some updated firmware and drivers and the like, but to no avail.
I have tried switching the BIOS to AHCI, as well as updating the BIOS which hasn't helped. I found a SATA driver update for my board on the ASUS website but the program will not let me install it. I have tried installing the Intel Smart Connect Technology program but it tells me that the platform check has failed: unsupported hardware.
Any help that anybody could provide would be very much appreciated.
