Hey guys, I have a test and a problem, here goes:

I have a SATA 2 HDD in an external USB 3.0 closure

my two pc's (processor/motherboard) average speeds while copying steam games (~11k files/30gb)

i7-4770k/ASRock Extreme Z87: ~93Mbits/s
a10-6800k/MSI A75MA-E35: ~30Mbits/s

Clearly not the hard drive being the bottle neck, what gives?

I didn't test the exact speed of usb 3.0, but the copying speed should be faster, how much is cache?

I'm not sure, but it shouldn't affect the speeds on the two machines, right? I tried the same thing on my gf's IB i7 Lenovo twist, and I got the same speeds as my haswell i7.
