I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop, with a HD of 500 GB. It has 4 partitions by default. I shrunk the windows partition by 50GB, and deleted the system recover partition. The problem is that I have unallocated 50GB, but they don't appear in windows disc manager, or in minitools partition wizard, etc. They only detect a HD of 450GB. How I can recover those 50GB?

Solution

The "problem" is solved. When I deleted the recovery partition, HP automatically merged that free space and the unallocated 50GB to...
In the hard drive work when you buy a 500 gig hard dive it doesn't read as 500 gigs in windows. For a computer it reads 1 Gigabyte as 1024 megabytes. Hard drive makers see 1 gigabyte as 1000 megabytes. a 500 Gig hard drive is really only 465 gigs.

If you look in Disk Manager though unallocated space will have a black bar on it. And deleteing the Recovery partition may have not been the best idea to delete. Windows Disk manager can only do so much before you need a 3rd party program to help. And when you shrunk the windows parittion you sure you didn't add it to another partition in the process?

The "problem" is solved. When I deleted the recovery partition, HP automatically merged that free space and the unallocated 50GB to the windows partition. That's why I didn't see that black block with the unallocated 50GB, because they were already merged. I shrank the windows partition again, and I installed linux mint in that free space, just like I wanted. Thanks for your Help.
