Hi. I have windows 7 home premium OEM on my ssd and I am gonna buy a new motherboard. Since the OEM version is tied to my motherboard, I¨m gonna buy a new windows 7 home premium retail version.

What do i do to get the retail version on the same ssd with the new motherboard ? Can I change the motherboard and plug in the ssd and set in the win 7 retail CD and do a clean install ? Can someone with experience tell me step by step how i should do this ? I'm just very confused , thank you :)

While yes it's a new mobo, when Win sees that it will tell you there's a change in hardware and that you need a new key, provide a phone number and a error code, you call pop in the error code, the computer will ask you how many systems the copy is installed on, you answer truthfully '1' and about 95% of the time they will just provide a new key and you are good to go
