I currently own a AMD Athlon x2 250 with a GTX 260 gpu. I just ordered a FX - 6300 and was wondering if I will see any increase in GPU performance in games, or regular computer usage. This will be my first upgrade for CPUs and I plan on adding a GTX 660 down the road, if not, does anyone recommend a good GPU under $150?

Solution
You will some gains in games especially the ones that benefit from a faster CPU(Like many RTS games) and yes you'll also see gains in regular usage.
GTX 660(Ti) is a very good upgrade from your current card

You will notice very much difference especially in games or some new applications that eat up a lot of cpu and gpu. If you are going with an AMD processor i would recommend you to go with an AMD gpu as you can crossfire the intergrated and your external gpu (in case you want to boost any game's performance but that is going to affect your CPU). But Nvidia GTX 660 is a good choice it is not going disappoint you. I hope this helps
