Well I had my dream computer put together earlier this year and sadly have had much more trouble with it than I planned. The graphics cards wont overclock even another 50mhz (asus dc2t 7970s) even though I was sure they were supposed to be over clockers. Two corsair h100i's have blown their lights and my first rampage iv extreme had faulty audio and Bluetooth now after receiving it back from warranty repairs its audio is still non existent. Although the people who built and have been working on my computer have said it was tested and working the day before they reinstalled it.

But anyway all things aside just recently I looked inside the case to notice that the case seems to be too small for the motherboard. On the bottom right hand corner the board is all flexed up.

What affect could this be having on the whole system? Could it be responsible for the audio not working? Also what should I expect from the builders if this is the case?

Solution
some of the newer case use one plastic standoff and a alinement pin. most time it on the top center row for the mb. take a look on the back side of the mb see if someone used a rubber spacer. there is a known bug with hdmi drivers for newer amd and nvidia that take over the sound output. look in the sound device manager make sure realteck speakers are still the default output. also install the 2.71 drivers and the newest mb bios. the other thing that can happen is a wifi card or another video card can use the irq or memory range of the onboard sound.

thanks for the input. With the motherboard its more a case of its actually being bent up by a part of the case where the steal is raised but I will check it out anyway. As for the audio its not even in the sound device manager and if I use a programme like unublue driver booster it says the device is unplugged. even though its all turned on in the bios.

The computer tech that was working on it told me over the phone that it could be the second graphics card. I tried taking it out and it did start for a little while but then stopped. Is there a chance it could be the graphics card in the primary slot perhaps if I switched the secondary with the primary that would do something im not really sure why this would even happen. A rampage iv extreme should be able to have Cf and still have its onboard sound shouldn't it?

one thing I think I will try now is to update the mb bios. Is there a chance that will fix it? the main problem is it behaves as if it is not switched on. no presence in sound devices or device manager what so ever

Hi I just did a few things like take out the gpus, switched them around, tried just one in I even tried my old 8970 but there was no change also uninstalled drivers. The front panel audio also seems to be plugged in.
It did work for about a day about a month ago so I assume its not actually broken.

Hi after more searching and changing things I think I have come to a solution installing the newest Intel(R) Management Engine Interface V9.0.0.1287 for Windows Vista/7/8 32bit & 64bit. after a restart the audio is now detected. only time will tell if it stays detected but I will have to wait and see.
