I am building a gaming PC soon and my parents have a monitor sitting around collecting dust and I would like to save a bit of cash. It is an HP 2010i monitor and it doesn't look to old (it is rectangular :p ) I know a monitor is a monitor and I will be able to game on it as long as the ports match up but is it worthwhile getting a £100-£150 replacement?

More about : monitor fine gaming

1600x900 is fairly good resolution for mid-high end gaming. Keep it if it saves you £100-£150

only upgrade if you have a really high end gaming pc with a beefed up hd7950/gtx760 level graphic card and would like 1080p gaming.
Anything below that-the hp 2010i would suffice

Thanks, I was either going to go with a hd 7870 xt or a 7950... Do you still think it would be up to the job?
