Hi,
I am looking for a CPU that will be good for a home PC. All I will be doing is social networking, using Microsoft Office, browsing the web, streaming movies and a little gaming. Any suggestions?

I would highly suggest the new generation Intel i3 4130, 4330 or 4330T. The second two will have slightly better integrated graphics for light to medium gaming, fantastic power efficiency and will remain quiet with the stock intel cooler until it gets to high load with gaming at which point you wouldn't notice a little fan noise.

The AMD APU options are fairly strong as well but use significantly more power which will increase your cooling needs, resulting in a possible less than silent home PC.

Intel Haswell i3's:

wait for kaveri it will be on 2014 and the fm2+ boards are coming out soon

kaveri is supposedly have something like a 7750 amd intergrated so that will be more then enough for a bit of light gaming without a gpu

but its also suppose to be able to crossfire with 7000 series gpus as well

7750 or 7770

and the amd a series doesnt get to hot to be honest zalman low profile coolers can handle it or m4 coolermaster
