I am looking into getting a new graphics card and started to have some concerns. I am tossed up currently between a ASUS Radeon HD7870 DirectCU II v2 2GB or the slightly more expensive (around 30 bucks CAD) Sapphire Radeon HD7950 3GB w/ Boost.

I was leaning towards the 7950 but started to wonder if my CPU will bottleneck it too much to make the extra cost worth it. Is it smarter to get the cheaper card and than upgrade it again sooner or deal with possible bottlenecking.

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS:
AMD FX4100 quad core 3600Mhz
Motherboard - Asus M5A88-M
8 gigs ram

The only other problem is the 7870 is in stock at my local store, while the other has to be ordered in. Also if anyone can help with a secondary question the store is saying I should get a Thermaltake 650w smart modular power supply instead of the more expensive non-modular corsair model of equal power, it's cheaper but I don't know how dependable it is.

I can tell you the CPU will not bottleneck the 7950 for sure. And to answer the second question get a Corsair PSU, more reliable, and efficient.

Thanks a ton for the response, I figured getting a corsair was the better bet but had to make sure.
