I have all parts installed into my case and now it's a matter of making sure everything is plugged in correctly. I'm very paranoid about messing up so I went to Best Buy (uuuuurg) to get some advice on what plugs in where.

I have a 3570k chip, Asus p8Z77-V LK board, and an OCZ modXstream 600w psu.

Guy tells me to use the 4 pin plug running off the psu for the cpu, but there is also an 8 pin plug. Said the 8 pin will fry the chip. Is this correct?

8 pin is usually for 125W cpu, i5 is only 77W so just use 4pin

Thanks! Regarding everything else to be plugged in, is it simply find what connects to what, try to clean up wires, and turn it on to see if it works?
