Which power supply would be sufficient enough for my build?

I am currently building a pc, mainly used for producing music. I have a 10000rpm hard drive, 16gb ram, i7 3770k processor and an atx motherboard. Would I need to get a PSU any higher than 400watts to efficiently power this build (gold or silver certified)? Also, are there any recommendations for a suitable pSU?

Thank you so much for any answers ;)

Are you using a graphics card?

Great price on this 550w unit , that will give you plenty of extra power.

  2. If you are not using any discrete GPU then any 300watt and up will power the system. You have a budget in mind?
  3. Thanks for the answers, I don't have a budget in mind, it is a possibility that I will be getting a graphics card, if so I will probably get an asus hd 7770 2gb
  4. xfx 550w looks rather good, thank you for your recommendation! ;)
  5. The 430w I posted above would be fine to pair with a 7770.
  6. Then I would go with something like the XFX above or if you want a GOLD rated PSU then this Rosewill is good http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-power-supply-capstone450
