hi, i'm building a computer for my friend based off my current system except for the graphics card which is the next version of card up..
-----------------------------------
so far the situation we are getting is, when the computer is completely set up, when we try to start the computer up the Fan on the power supply Twitches and then stops, this only happens when the computer is freshly plugged it, to make it happen again you would have to plug out the computer and back in.
i think the issues might be something related to the graphics card as it is the only part different to my computer other then the case and hard drive.
the main difference i noticed on the graphics card is it only has a single 6-pin plug rather then 2 like my twin frozir ii in my computer..
-----------------------------------
The graphics card has been tried in the direct graphics card power on the motherboard and i have trided to plug it into the one of two "6 pin" power plugs on the powersupply

-----------------------------------
. The sata's for the disc drive and hard drive are set up correctly,
. The 24 Pin for the power supply is plugged into the mother board
. the 2 twin 4X8 Pins from the power supply are also plugged into the motherboard in the left top corner (only place they fit)
. the processor is installed correctly, (She installed this herself, *could be a fault but most likely last on the list*
. the graphic card is installed in the pci-e slot.
. the Power button-restart button-and etc are installed correctly on the right bottom corner
----------------------------------
(sorry for spelling mistakes or other, i'm not the best at typing)

Hey, so far i've been looking more into the power and thinking.. because the graphics card only has 1 6pin, the wise i got with it have 1 eng with a single 6 pin and the other end with a 2 6 pins coming from the wire, is it safe to plug the two 6 pins into seperate PSU's on the powersupply and the single 6 pin into the graphics card?, like.. to give it extra power or such?

Hi, I suggest taking the board outside the case and testing it on its cardbox, as it looks like a short.
Another thing to look for is the motherboard manufacture date, as the CPU requires a newer BIOS version, released in October 2012:
http://service.msicomputer.com/msi_user/barcodeImage/MB...
As for the graphics card, connect single PCIe 6 pin power cable from the power supply.

shortage as in the motherboard might be fucked? or theres static on the case?
Can you explain what you mean about the motherboard - CPU? i wont get my hands on the computer until tomorrow and have to write down notes on how ye would go about testing / fixing

The case might short the motherboard if standoffs (raisers) are not correctly installed.
Testing the motherboard outside the case would rule out such issue.
Regarding the manufacture date. For newer CPUs like the one you're using, the board's BIOS version has to be updated if the board was manufactured before October 2012.
That's why you have to check it.
If the BIOS is older than the required one, the motherboard does not POST.
If the board was manufactured after October 2012, test the board outside the case with single RAM stick inserted, graphics card, DVD drive, keyboard and mouse. Connect the monitor using DVI or VGA.

bingo, your on the dot cheers so much..
solution: i took the mother board out of the case and the rest, tried it without the videocard and it worked, i checked it out and looks like the motherboard was touching the case, seems she used the wrong screw to put it in, the case came with bronze/copper screws that go behind the motherboard and you screw ontop of them in front of the mother board,
worked perfect,
