Hi,

So, I had a sans digital TowerRaid with 4 2TB seagate drives in it. Set up in RAID 5. connected through an estat cable to a estat card. Worked great for about 3 years of heavy use. A few days ago, it stopped working. The light would blink like it was loading over and over again. Then it stopped working all together. I assumed it was the power supple.

Went to the store and I got a Sans digital Mobilestor MS4UT+B. The machines on, it sees that its raid 5 but the error light is on. The 4 light for the HDD blink when it starts. This one has esata and usb 3. I've tried both the same lights are on but my pc doesn't see it.

So, what does the error light mean?

I have enough room in my pc the install the 4 drives but will windows see them as raid 5?

it seems unlikely that all 4 drives crashed at the same time.

I really don't want to loose all of my data so any help would be appreciated

1: means its time to crack open the user manual but typically you replace the drive with the error.
2: no windows wont see the raid though there is software that can try.
3: not very likely for 4 drives to up and fail, no. But what is likely is that whatever took out the entire NAS took all 4 drives out with it. This doesnt appear to be what happened to you.

How were yo backing up this raid array? Never trust your important data to a single device. Multiple copies stored on different devices are the key to surviving failures like this.
