Alright guys, I promised myself I'd stop bitching and nitpicking about my two contingent builds. I'm super indecisive and I need someone to pull the trigger for me on this one. These are the two I have in mind. I don't want to really change anything from these unless I absolutely have to. So, that being said, please anyone who has a decent knowledge or a history with these parts, PLEASE give your opinion. It is very much appreciated. *Things to note* I'm a gamer, but I want this to last a long time. It will be my primary workstation as well. I'm getting more and more into CS so, I need to be able to run my programs effortlessly. I think I did a good job of picking parts that don't bottleneck and will work very well together. I believe I've certainly done my homework. The two builds are within my budget, however the most important thing I'm going for here is performance long term. I know "futureproofing" is more of a myth than anything, but I want this build to last a good while and still play games in 2017 on great settings. That being said, here are my two builds!

BUILD 1 (more expensive) http://pcpartpicker.com/user/infamousk12/saved/2piw

BUILD 2 (more budget minded) http://pcpartpicker.com/user/infamousk12/saved/2wD3

So go ahead, tear them apart, and give me your feedback. I would love to hear what everyone has to say. Thanks so much.

My bad on the monitor. The Benq is for both builds. I fudged that up.
What RAM do you propose then?
This is a first build for me, and closed loop coolers will be easier. I have no idea how to get into custom loops, and nor do I want to at this point in time. On top of that, I have nobody to help me (besides YouTube), so custom loops would be difficult.

I prefer air cooler to closed loop water coolers. They cool just as well and make WAY less noise.

Get any 1600mhz RAM that is 1.5v. Brands do not affect performance. You are paying for useless heat fins. (ddr3 ram does not get ANYWHERE near hot enough to even need heatsinks at all)

They are near identical with slight modifications. I wont be overclocking too hard, or at all for that matter in my immediate future. Sorry about the monitor fudge. I left it out by mistake while overwriting the build in Pcpartpicker.

You certainly make sense with that. I don't really like the air cooler look. The point I'm going with a 600t is for the case window, and yes, that is a part of things. Asthetics are important (to and extent) and even those awesome Noctuas look hideous.

If you really have the money for all of this then they are great. One thing though that i would like to say is the Nvidia cards are more geared towards video editing and rendering and even though you said that you are getting into CS but honestly i would recommend a radeon card such as a 7970 GHz or a 7990 if you could afford one. You may also want to wait for the R9 cards to come out and see how they stack up. With Nvidia cards you may experience some problems with games and you will definitely have better performance with games on a radeon card.

This is not true. The BEST closed loop coolers cool 1-5 degrees better than air coolers and yes, they are considerably louder.

This is shown here: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/h100i-elc240-seidon-240m-lq320,3380-12.html

For the h100i to beat the air cooler it had to be running at MAX fan speed which is about 2x as loud as the air cooler.

On auto settings, the h100i was only 1 degree cooler than the air cooler and still louder.

Thanks for the feedback. I am a bit partial to Nvidia. I don't want to sound like a hipster, or ignorant, but I've had Nvidia cards before and I dont see problems with them. I saw the R9 cards, and I would by lying if i said I wasn't interested. Should I hold off and wait a few months? If I do wait, I'm scared I'm going to have to change my build all over again because of a new processor etc..

It is very bad to be partial with this type of stuff. I understand it of course but you really have to keep your mind open to what would be best for you. The R9 cards are available to purchase on the 16th of this month i think so it won't be long. I would at least wait to see what those have in store. Also I'm sure that Nvidia will drop their prices because of the new Radon cards coming out... if they haven't already. I'm not sure if they have or have not already.

You do make a lot of sense, and for that reason I think it's wise to wait until those cards come out to drop the price of Nvidia's cards.

I would. And also keep your mind open to them. A couple of them are supposed to be really powerful.

If not planning to water cool the mobo (the biggest diffference) go with the Hero, I run mine at 4.6 24/7 on air and all is good, the Hero is a great mobo, will do Dual SLI (Iprefer nVidia) or XFire, will take anything you throw at it, (mine does)

I disagree with the looks things. It is 100% subjective, but I would rather look at and have people see a big old air cooler and have them know I ma serious, than have a closed loop cooler have have people know and see that I spent a bunch of money to say I have 'liquid cooling' when really all I have is a closed loop cooler. They are a fad.

First off, I want to thank everyone for their contributions. I'm happy to see different views and opinions. I think the best thing to do is to wait a few weeks to see if the new R9 cards bring down Nvidias prices, or even look into those cards themselves. I think the best conservation of money is to ditch the dominator platinum and stick with the vengeance pro. They seem to be even optimized for haswell. In addition, I will probably drop to the Hero as well and save another $100. I reason I went with the Formula is because of their Supreme 3FX. I don't want to get a sound card, and the mobo seemed like a good deal for the extra 100$ off the Hero for what you're getting. Other than that, I'm content with my build.
