cpu - i5 4570
gpu - asus hd7770
mobo - msi z87 g41 pc mate
ram - 8gb g skill ram
hdd - seagate 1tb
ps - corsair 750w
os - Windows 7 64bit

This issue began as soon as I built this pc. I could be just searching the net or playing a game and the computer just freezes. No buttons or keys are responsive. I figure the problem to be with Windows 7 somehow. I installed Ubuntu and Fedora, both operating systems ran flawlessly. I re-installed Windows 7 and updated all drivers and the freezing still occurs. I don't know what the problem can be. Any help will be appreciated.

I do believe that your video card is defective. I had a 7870XT that was defective only when crossfired (try going through THAT can of worms! LOL) and it did the same thing, it froze the system. I would take it back where I got it and have them test it to be certain.

I thought the same but, I've ran the system with only cpu, ram, and hdd, and the same thing occurs.

No it doesn't. I'll try to install SP1 and report back.

I installed SP1 last night, and when I signed on today it froze right away.
